The Subacute unit at Northwest Hospital is a 39-bed unit with a variety of patients requiring skilled nursing care to include physical, occupation and speech therapy, and nutritional services, as well as wound and joint care. This unit is also an overflow area for hospice. The unit is equipped with continuous passive motion (CPM) machines, trapeze bars and other equipment to allow for maximum patient independence. Staff members on this unit must be positive, compassionate, motivated and dedicated to helping others in need. Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and function as advisor, resource, for patients and their families as a member of the patient care team. Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field; Bachelor's of Nursing, preferred; Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Synquest; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Maryland Registered Nurse License; American Heart Assocation CPR Certification.
