Behavioral Health and 4C provide general, acute care for inpatient adults who may be suffering for mental or behavioral health issues. The 4C unit has a capacity of 14 beds, while the BHU census capacity is 23 beds. Patients in these units may have be depressed, schizophrenic, or struggle with substance abuse or a mood disorder. In addition to the BHU and 4C, staff works in a 6-bed area of the ER, referred to as the Psych West Pod, which can house adults, adolescents or children. The majority of nursing staff in this area cross train to all three areas. Staff members in these areas must be positive and outgoing, and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status. Position Summary: Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and function as advisor, resource, preceptor and leader for other members of the patient care team. Must consistently continue to meet the requirements and expectations for an RN. Requirements: Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. 1-3 years of experience. Maryland Registered Nurse License American Heart Association CPR Certification Specialty certification preferred.
