Job Description:

Performs registration and scheduling of outpatient appointments, charge entry, collection of co-pays and medical records functions. May perform referrals. Optimizes facility and professional collections. Performs a complete registration of patients. Pulls and refiles records, files loose reports and other documents in the records, performs file maintenance in the file area. Processes release of medical records information. Answers telephone inquiries. Professional charge entry. Ensures that all customers receive exemplary service. Serves as a patient/customer advocate when needed.

Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology obtained through formal training or previous experience. 1-3 years of experience. IDX; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Knowledge of third party payors; Performs credit card transactions; Ability to effectively maneuver in the Internet ; Excellent customer service/IPR skills; Excellent organizational skills; Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer ; Cerner; Synquest. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
