Under limited supervision; monitors and reports on market trends, assists in assessing opportunities for new business and services and assists in the development and implementation of new program and services. Interacts extensively with other members of the Department of Planning and Business Development, other management staff, staff voluntary physicians (frequently including chiefs of service), regulatory officials, and others.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree required in healthcare administration or equivalent. Two years' experience either in-house or with a consulting firm, in health care planning or finance. A master's degree or equivalent post-baccalaureate training in a related field can substitute for employment experience. Must have excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; strong planning, problem solving, and change management skills. Strong quantitative skills are essential, as is proficiency with spreadsheet and database programs and the ability to master new software programs quickly. Proficiency with PowerPoint desirable. Must be able to manage, with limited oversight, a complex and varied workload and maintain good working relationships with staff, physicians, regulators, and others.
