Description: Under direct supervision of a physician, performs a variety of clinical and clerical responsibilities to assist care providers in examination and treatment of patients. Enters pertinent information in patient chart, and performs related clerical tasks. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Age groups served may include neonate through adult-geriatric, but will vary depending on specific assignment. Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians; and pro-actively identifies and provides for the customers' need using the "10 Customer Service Basics": Look the Part; Connect with the Customer; Our Customers Are Our Guests; Private Means Private; Your's the Expert; Respond Quickly; Be an Advocate; Keep Your Eyes Open; Help Each Other; the Power of One.
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Completion of a medical Assistant program of one (1) year of medical office experience OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. One (1) year medical front and back office experience required. A total of 1-3 years experience required. Must be fluent with basic computer skills, medical terminology, be able to type 35 wpm, and have great organizational skills. Must have American Heart Association CPR Certification. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively verbally and follow verbal instructions.
