Levindale's High Intensity Care Unit is a fast-paced and exciting place to work. The unit is comprised of 20 semi-private rooms, and can accommodate up to 40 patients. In the HICU, a team approach is taken to provide care for patients, who may require attention for an acute brain injury, need respiratory assistance or special monitoring, or require rehabilitation. HICU staff members are outgoing and positive, and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Requirements: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate; 1-3 years experience; American Heart Association CPR certification; GNA or CNA license; Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Healthstream; Standard office equipment; Medical terminology; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff; Hoyer lift.
Pre-qual: 1. Are you currently CNA/GNA certified in Maryland? 2. Do you have at least 1 year of experience with Foley and IV insertions, lead EKGs, and obtaining blood sugars? 3. Do you have at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience?
