In collaboration with appropriate clinical personnel, the Outpatient Pediatrics Nurse Coordinator participates in the coordination of clinical practice activities in the office through the development and implementation of educational and orientation programs and clinical problem solving. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the pediatric patient. Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians to proactively identify and provide for pediatric patient needs in accordance with LBH customer service standards and expectations, along with JCAHO standards and expectations. Serves as a liaison between the department and other health care professionals to ensure continuity of patient care. A large component of this position is over-the-phone triage.
The general pediatricians and nurse practitioner at GPA care for newborns through young adults (birth through age 21). They are skilled at managing these patients through well child care and illness, and coordinating care with specialists as needed. The pediatricians of the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai provide primary pediatric care for children from birth to 21 years of age at Greenspring Pediatric Associates in the Rosenbloom Building at Sinai Hospital.
Requirements: Basic professional knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, BSN required, working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field, at least 3 years of RN experience preferred, outpatient pediatrics experience strongly desired, team-lead or charge nurse experience preferred, Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association CPR Card, Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer skills, Cerner, Synquest, IDX, standard office equipment, Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act, critical thinking skills, medical equipment
