Progressive Care Is a 40 bed cardiac telemetry unit for a patient population which includes those with chest pain, CHF, Cardiac arrhythmias, s/p cath lab procedure and pre-op cardiac surgery patients. Also 23hr, observation and admitted patients. We provide continuous pulse ox monitoring for stable cardiac patients, our daily routine consists of bedside shift report, q 4hr assessments, hourly rounding, Phlebotomy, IV insertion, patient education etc. We pride ourselves in an autonomous nursing practice setting. Accountable Care Unit rounding is done daily where physicians, nursing, case management/social work and pharmacy collaborate and discuss the plan of care to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients. Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, and function as advisor, resource, for patients and their families as a member of the patient care team. Works under the direct supervision and direction of the Nurse Manager.
Requirements: BSN or ASN with 2+ years of experience required; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field; Maryland RN license; American Heart Association CPR certification; specialty certification preferred; Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Healthstream; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment.
