The Nurse Manager for the Outpatient Infusion Center is responsible for ensuring that safe, age-appropriate patient care is provided during hours of unit operation. Functions as role model, advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team. The Outpatient Infusion Center at Sinai is designed to provide state-of-the-art services and the latest technology as well as maximum patient comfort. Patients may receive their chemotherapy with other patients in a group room with comfortable recliners, or in private. Televisions are easily viewed from each location. The Infusion Center is staffed with specially trained nurses who are certified in the administration of chemotherapy. Oncology pharmacists, nutritionists, nurse practitioners, and a social worker also provide expert care. Depending upon each patient's medical needs, treatment times range from 15 minutes to eight hours.
Requirements: Seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree, knowledge in more than one discipline, BSN from accredited School of Nursing, OCN certification required, at least 5 years of progressive nursing experience in Oncology with preference for demonstrated progression in supervisory responsibilities, previous management experience required, strong change management background preferred, infusion experience strongly desired, Maryland Registered Nurse license, American Heart Association CPR certification, basic computer skills, critical thinking skills.
