Under limited supervision The Nurse Outcomes Educator, designs, develops, implements and evaluates education programs based upon adult learning principles for the Emergency Department. Adheres to the ANA Nursing Professional Development Scope and Standards. Utilizes and applies organizational policies and procedures. Provides ED support and supervision for staff. As a part of the team, supports hospital wide education programs in addition to ED-based initiatives. The Nurse Outcomes Educator is accountable for improvement of organizational metrics related to clinical effectiveness and patient satisfaction. This is a Nurse Educator position for the ED.
Requirements: Seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree, knowledge in more than one discipline, BS in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's required, National Certification required (either a Nursing Specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or ASTD) such as CEN, CCRN, or CNL. Previous education/teaching experience strongly preferred, at least 7 years of RN experience (at least 3-5 years of which must be ED nursing experience). Maryland Registered Nurse License required, American Heart Association CPR Certification required, ACLS required, AHA CPR Instructor Certification preferred, ACLS Instructor preferred, Medical terminology, Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act, Critical thinking skills, Medical equipment, Requires Flexibility, Teamwork, Creativity and Innovation, Microsoft Office Suite, Basic computer skills, Cerner, Healthstream, Standard Office Equipment.
