Nursing Technician- NW- Float Pool

Job Description:

The Northwest Float Pool is a designated supplemental staffing pool designed to be used by nursing areas when unit staffing is insufficient to meet patient care needs.

Associates that are hired into the float pool are assigned to work in one of the following designated patient care groupings and must be willing to work in all areas of a designated patient care grouping.  Nursing technicians will be required to be cross-trained as a Unit Clerk and will be required to work in any of the following defined areas (BHU and OR excluded)

Critical Care (ICU/ICSD) - All associates are required to have BLS, ACLS for nursin

Acute Care (GRC/SGOR/MONC/SUBACUTE) - All associates are required to have BLS

Telemetry (PCU/OBS) - All associates are required to have BLS, ACLS for nursing

Emergency Department – All associates are required to have BLS, ACLS & PALS for nursing

BHU - All associates are required to have BLS

OR - All associates are required to have BLS, ACLS & PALS for nursing

Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the unit, Hospital and Nursing Department.
Requirements: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; less than one year experience; Basic computer skills; Synquest; Medical terminology; Hoyer lift; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff; GNA / CNA Licensure; CPR from AHA.
