As a member of the surgical team, provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse. Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Less than one year experience required. Basic computer skills; Cerner; Medical terminology; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Healthstream; Surgical equipment and instruments. American Heart Association CPR Certification; Accredited Surgical Technology Course Certificate; CST within 24 months of hire. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively verbally.
