Functions as role model, advisor, resource, and leader for other members of the patient care team. Mount Pleasant Inpatient Psychiatry is an 24-Bed adult acute care psychiatric unit, with 6 psychiatric specific medical beds. We see patients with a variety of mental illness to include: Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Depression, and Schizophrenia. Our patients are over 18 and are admitted on both a voluntary as well as involuntary basis. We have a very seasoned nursing staff, able to provide high quality care to one of the most overlooked, yet deserving patient populations in our community.
Requirements: Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. BSN from a CCNE accredited School of Nursing. In addition, a MSN, MS, MA, MHA or MBA is required. 5 years progressive nursing experience in specified field with preference for demonstrated progression in supervisory responsibilities. At least 3-5 years of RN psych experience. Maryland Registered Nurse License; American Heart Association CPR Certification; Neonatal resuscitation program per unit guidelines; Advanced Life Support per unit guidelines; Pediatric Advanced Life Support per unit guideline; National Certification in Administration or Area of Specialty required.
