Under limited supervision, designs, develops, implements and evaluates education programs based upon adult learning principles for a clinical service line. Adheres to the ANA Nursing Professional Development Scope and Standards. Utilizes and applies organizational policies and procedures. Provides service line support and supervision for staff. As a part of the team, supports hospital wide education programs in addition to service line based initiatives. This role will support the Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units. The Nurse Outcomes Educator is accountable for improvement of organizational metrics related to: clinical effectiveness, patient satisfaction.
Seasoned professional knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree, knowledge in more than one discipline, BS in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's required. National Certification required (either a Nursing Specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or ASTD). Previous education/teaching experience preferred, 7+ years of RN experience, experience in Labor & Delivery and/or Mother/Baby required. Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association CPR Certification, AHA CPR Instructor Certification preferred, NRP and NRP Instructor preferred, ACLS and ACLS Instructor preferred, PALS and PALS Instructor preferred, medical terminology, Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act, critical thinking skills, medical equipment, requires flexibility, teamwork, creativity and innovation, Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer skills, Cerner, Healthstream, standard office equipment.
