Job Summary: Assesses the patient insurance/financial status to facilitate and assist with appropriate discharge planning. Maintains log of post hospital care referrals, provider, contacts, and other related information. Serves as communication liaison between attending psychiatrists, Social Workers, and external reviewers. Also, serves as the administrative support staff in facilitating insurance review communication, maintaining departmental statistical data, tracking and maintaining departmental system reports and performing general clerical and receptionist duties. Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians, and pro-actively identifies and provides for the customer's needs using the "10 Customer Service Basics.
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field; Human Services related field and 1-3 years in healthcare environment preferably Psychiatry. Microsoft Office Suite, Basic computer skills, Cerner, IDX, Standard Office Equipment, Medical terminology, Critical thinking skills, Ability to interact with the public positively, Ability to problem solve independently. One to three years experience.
