Under medical direction, provides treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities with the cardio-pulmonary system. The charge therapist will function as an advisor, resource, preceptor, and leader for other members of the department as well as acts as a liaison between the clinical leader and staff.
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. AA Degree in Respiratory Care. 3-5 years of experience. Oxygen delivery systems; Basic computer skills; Ventilators; CPAP/BiPap; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Healthstream; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment. Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure; Registered by National Board for Respiratory Care; Intubation Certification; BLS,ACLS,PALS Certification. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
