The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the Nurse Manager. This role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by his/her specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned unit/s. This position will oversee the GI Lab and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Requirements: Basic professional knowledge; working knowledge of theory and practice within the specialized field; BSN required and national certification in area of specialty required, such as CGRN; MSN, MS, MA, or MBA is preferred. Must have 1 year of leadership experience; Leadership experience must include formal supervision; 1-3 years RN experience; MD Registered Nurse license; ACLS and/or PALS will be required after 6 months, if applicable; Specialty certification required; American Heart Association CPR certification; Must be a member of a professional organization; Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Healthstream; Standard office equipment; Medical terminology.
