Department: Education Resource Center - 7020
Under limited supervision, designs, develops, implements and evaluates education programs based upon adult learning principles for a clinical service line. Adheres to the ANA Nursing Professional Development Scope and Standards. Utilizes and applies organizational policies and procedures. Provides service line support and supervision for staff. As a part of the team, supports hospital wide education programs in addition to service line based initiatives. This position will support the PeriOperative Units- PASS, Pre-Op, and PACU, as well as Pre-Op and PACU in the Ambulatory Surgery Center and GI Endoscopy Department.
Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field. BS in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's required. National Certification; preferred (either a Nursing Speciality, Nursing Professional Development, or ASTD). Previous education/teaching experience preferred. 3-5 years of experience. Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Healthstream; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Requires Flexability; Teamwork; Creativity and Innovation. Maryland Registered Nurse License; American Heart Association CPR Certification; ACLS and ACLS Instructor as appropriate; PALS and PALS Instructor as appropriate; NRP and Instructor NRP as appropriate; AHA CPR Instructor Certification. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
